What is a wedding ring
If your engagement ring requires a slight or more substantial shaping or cut out wedding ring, do not worry because at G.H.Moore & Son we specialise in handmade shaped and fitted wedding rings to suit your bespoke wedding ring requirments.
The process of making your handmade wedding ring is done via making a silver model of what your wedding ring will look like. We would require your engagement ring for a short period of time to match the shape and profile that your wedding ring will need to be. This process is all done on site.
After your silver model has been made and you are happy with how your wedding ring will look, you can have your engagement ring back and we then get your wedding ring cast and hallmarked and then we complete all the finishing touches to your wedding ring - i.e. polishing or even diamond setting. Our handmade shaped or fitted wedding rings take approximatley 2 weeks for completion depending on your wedding ring design.
A wedding ring is full circle of metal symbolising that the wearer is married to their loved one. Pre 20th Century shows that it was originally just the women who would wear a wedding ring, however since then men have worn wedding rings too.
One of reasons why you wear a wedding ring on your left hand on on your third finger is due to Romans believing that your wedding ring will sit on a vein which runs directly to your heart, this is called the Vena Amoris meaning the vein of love.
A wedding ring supersition is to make sure your wedding ring is the perfect fit, due to if it is too tight it will symbolise a painful jealousy. If it is too loose it will symbolise the parting of ways.
