Sapphire, birthstone for September.
Sapphire can be found in a variety of different colours, most commonly blue and pink but also yellow, green and colourless.
This gem is a variety of the mineral corundum, which is the hardest mineral after diamond.
This is a good property to have as it lends itself well to be set into jewellery, especially tension set titanium rings.
Pink sapphires are amongst the most beautiful of the corundum family and range from a very pale, delicate pink to a near red.
These colours work well in jewellery as they compliment skin tones well and are especially nice when set into rings, pendants and earrings.
It is also believed that when wearing pink sapphires near to the skin it will ward off ill health and misfortune.
We stock a wide range of sapphire pendants, rings, earrings and bracelets and offer a bespoke design service to create one off pieces of jewellery.
